Prepares students to communicate verbally and in writing in simple routine tasks, to understand written or spoken communication on everyday topics and to develop cultural awareness.

ARBC 200    Introduction to Arab Studies    3 Hours

An interdisciplinary introduction to the study of Arab culture and to regional/cultural studies in general, designed to increase understanding of the diversity of Arab culture; the influence of language, religion, geography and history on Arab culture; and how cultural themes are expressed in artifacts such as literature, art, architecture, and film. Supervised language and cultural studies accomplished during a study abroad program.
