DATA 301    Big Data with its Applications    3 Hours

The course examines how an individual, company, or organization interacts with a system of big data including i) data collection (policy and mechanisms), ii) data protection, iii) data analytics, iv) inference and decision making. Case studies of big data are drawn from areas such as politics, social network, humanities, and healthcare. Colonnade/Statewide General Education Code K-SY

DATA 399    Career Readiness in Data Science    1 Hour

Introduction to preparation for a career in Data Science, including exposure to careers in Data Science; development of professional resumes and cover letters; oral communications; interviewing skills; ethical standards; and professional networking. This course is limited to juniors and seniors in the Data Science major.

Restriction(s): Enrollment limited to students with a semester level of Junior or Senior.

DATA 499    Senior Assessment - Data Science    3 Hours

A capstone course that provides an opportunity to apply technical skills acquired in the major to solving real-world problems. Students will complete a research project to showcase the knowledge and expertise they acquired in the program.

Prerequisite(s): BDAN 420 with a minimum grade of C and ECON 465 with a minimum grade of C

Restriction(s): Enrollment limited to students with a semester level of Senior.
